Great thread idea!

Kevin 11-21-2019 02:07 PM

Mind if I edit your original post to add everything subsequently posted?

APhi4Ever 11-21-2019 02:43 PM

I wish Alpha Phi would do this. I’ve purchased some on Ebay but it would be wonderful to see them all. I also purchased war bond stamps we sold in WW2.

For sure :) In serving as the editor for our magazine for the last five years, I frequently review other organizations' magazines for inspiration. This will put them all in one convenient place!

*Please* do so. I think there is an expiration date on how long I could change the original post (one week?) and was wondering if there was some way around that.

I can do these, if you want, but having you do it is probably better...

Yes! Maybe it's because I'm a media geek, but I love reading other organizations' magazines.

Adding a few others:
Alpha Delta Pi: https://www.alphadeltapi.org/page/di...ives/#archives (They also have their history books and other stuff archived here.)
Alpha Sigma Alpha: https://issuu.com/alphasigmaalpha
Delta Zeta: https://www.deltazetaarchive.org/

I'll try to keep up with it. If you notice I'm behind, feel free to let me know. I think this would be a helpful list.

Alpha Phi has some here - https://issuu.com/alphaphiintl

They don't seem to be in any particular order, and they don't go back very far unfortunately.

I know! I wish Tri Delta would do this too!

I remember a few years back (I think it was for some anniversary), Pi Beta Phi put their magazine archives on a DVD or something up to that particular point in time. I thought that was such a cool idea, and then I started noticing other groups putting their archives online.

naraht 11-21-2019 07:18 PM

Do people think we should have the name of the Magazine as well
ex.
Alpha Phi Omega Torch and Trefoil http://www.apoarchive.org/

naraht 11-21-2019 07:52 PM

Also, there is a company that does this professionally and at least a dozen of the archives were found just looking for the name. (google "Powered by Arceios")

PKT4LIFE 11-21-2019 09:57 PM

The digital archived issues of our official magazine, "The Laurel", are on-line. However; the link is not working. I sent our HQ a message to fix.

I love reading the early issues when our organization was founded.

ASTalumna06 11-21-2019 10:16 PM

This is still my favorite cover out of all our issues :p:D

I'll get it from here.

I'm trying to alphabetize by Greek letter, hence Alpha Gamma Delta before Alpha Delta Pi.

Sigma Alpha Iota's Pan Pipes quarterly digital archive can be found here: http://saihq.uberflip.com/

Sister Havana 11-27-2019 07:03 PM

Some others with archives on Issuu:

Delta Delta Delta: https://issuu.com/tridelta (only about a year's worth of magazines so far)
Zeta Tau Alpha: https://issuu.com/zetataualpha
Sigma Sigma Sigma: https://issuu.com/trisigma
Sigma Pi: https://issuu.com/sigmapihq
Kappa Kappa Psi/Tau Beta Sigma: https://issuu.com/the_official_podium (The Podium covers both organizations)
Pi Beta Phi: https://issuu.com/pibetaphi

***NOTE FROM KEVIN (for Kevin) added all to this point.

naraht 11-28-2019 08:15 AM

Quick proposed edits of magazine names and additions
Alpha Gamma Delta Quarterly should be italicized.
Alpha Omicron Pi is now in there twice, the second should be deleted.
Delta Delta Delta is The Trident
The DeltaSig Magazine should be italicized
Kappa Kappa Psi/Tau Beta Sigma is The Podium. The colon should either be removed, or added to all the others.
Pi Beta Phi is The Arrow
Sigma Pi is The Emerald
Sigma Sigma Sigma is The Triangle
Zeta Tau Alpha is Themis and it should be moved to its location before Theta Tau Greek Alphabetically.

Phi Kappa Theta: The Temple https://www.phikaps.org/the-years

I think the entire www.enivation.com website is down. Looking at just a general search on google for what is on that site, I see archives (probably the magazine location, but no guarantee) for
Alpha Epsilon Pi
Alpha Xi Delta
Alpha Chi Rho
Beta Theta Pi
Theta Xi
Kappa Delta Rho
Kappa Kappa Gamma (not sure how that compares to the one we've already got in the list)
Omicron Delta Kappa
Sigma Kappa
Sigma Pi
Phi Kappa Tau
Phi Sigma Sigma
Phi Upsilon Omicron

On the subject of italicization, Pan Pipes should be for SAI's. Happy Thanksgiving, y'all! ;)

naraht 12-23-2019 02:36 PM

Enivation appears to be gone. website had domain up for sale. No idea what happened to the magazines.

Also, Kevin, I think some of the updates since November 27th haven't been updated on the initial post.

naraht 12-24-2019 08:31 AM

Some of the enivation pages are on www.archive.org .

The Alpha Phi Alpha organ is The Sphinx.

I know it is inconsistent. We're on it.

Yeah, I'm seeing inconsistencies within individual issues. Good Luck...

Okay, so post-now, what changes need to be made?

Copying from the posts, I know this loses the italicization, but in each case, the name of the magazines should be italicized.
