Legacy Recommendation Letter

Hi!

My daughter will be going through recruitment at the same school that I attended and was an active.

Is it better for me (the mom) to provide the recommendation for my daughter or for another alumna who was in the same chapter and knows my daughter/family to provide the recommendation?

Why not do both? Though, do note that many sororities are now doing away with any kind of preference for legacy status and some no longer do recommendations. Check with your organization's national website to be sure.

That would be great if we could, but the chapter only takes 1 recommendation and no LOS, so we have to choose.

If you can only do one, I think it would be better for another alumna to submit for your daughter. This gives the impression of a more objective introduction.

I agree.

I concur. If you know any of the advisers or alums who still work with the chapter, you might mention to them that your daughter is coming thru.

That was my thought as well. Thank you!
