Concerned Pledge

I am a pledge and we are fairly far into the pledge process. Initiation is only a few weeks away. I have fallen behind in my studies and my parents are a little concerned and want to me to drop my pledgeship. What is the best way to do this? How should I approach the fraternity and tell them that I must drop my pledgeship?

Talk to your pledge/new member educator about this.

Magichats got the right idea. Just tell the parents to get over it... you havent even got your final grades yet. You sound like an associate member.

I made terrible grades my first quarter in school when I was a pledge...I didn't even get to go active! But, after my parents told me I'd have to come home and go to LSU-Shreveport, I got my act together, brought my grades up, went active in my sorority and had the best years of my life staying at school AND being in my sorority. You CAN do both, so tell your parents that you will get yourself and your grades together. Leaving the fraternity will not make your grades jump up--you'll just find another way to avoid studying.

Good luck!

If you really want to study, you will find a way
