Are you thinking of this for recruitment? The top is quite cute, but I think the skirt is too short. I'd avoid anything that says "mini skirt." I think I'd avoid white as well...you may be sitting on the floor during recruitment. A short skirt is tricky, and white will get dirty easily.

Any white bottom for recruitment is a bad idea. It stains easily, it makes your butt look bigger, and if Aunt Flo pays a visit....well I don't need to paint a picture.

What color skirt do you think would look good with that top?

Navy is a neutral, you can mix any color with it. If you are more conservative you can go with a neutral like gray or beige. If you like to take fashion risks, pair with a bright color: green, a bright pink or even orange.

Skirt is definitelyyyyyy too short. Cute, but too short. Think pencil skirt length, just above the knee or lower mid-thigh.

I personally think pairing it with a tan skirt and some cute white/gold accessories can make a great 'nautical' themed outfit. Just make sure it's not too summery for winter

They are both cute..skirt is too short. I am a little worried that the top is too summery for a January recruitment. I would agree that a pencil skirt would be a good choice..J Crew has lots on sale right now. I might try for something with a little more texture and not quite so summery looking.

I agree diamondmom. I wondered whether the top was too summery, but then I did not know whether or not the OP was rushing in the spring or next fall, so did not mention it.Glad you brought it up.

You might want to visit a store like Express or Limited for outfits as they are having huge after Christmas sales, same with JCrew and Banana if those are more your style
