I did not think anyone was being disrespectful. I think they were trying to be honest. High school students that do well compete to get in to the best school where there are other good students. Then they seem surprised that their grades are not as good because now they are an average student at a top school. (This would be one of the reasons many "top" schools like the idea of deferred recruitment.)

So just a reminder - there might be good chapters willing to take a grade risk that had a bad semester - but not a grade risk and a bad attitude....
