Philanthropy Male Competition--help/ideas?!
Hello Lovely AOII Ladies,
Our chapter decided to add a new philanthropy event for the Fall semester. It was an idea that came from seeing how successful a couple of other sororities on campus have been with male pageants (the competitions usually raise over $2500!).
We really want to do something different than the other organizations to set our event apart. The other organizations usually have a panel of judges grade gentlemen on their introductions, talent, and question/answer sessions. We were thinking about doing more of a challenge/MTV Road-Trip type event.
Are there any other chapters in AOII Land that do a similar philanthropy event? What are your ideas?
Thanks for sharing!
Alpha Love & mine,
Rachel, Pi Theta Chapter (FIU)

Our chapter doesn't do a "Male Pagent" but we do a Road Rule-ish thing. We actually have out AOII Mud Olympics. The boys have to do nice things through the week and collect "roses" for points. They chalk around campur and make banners. The week ends with our mud olymics. Each fraternity has a team and they compete in relay races in "mud" also known as chocolate pudding. Tug o War, obstacle courses, and this year we played flip cup with the pudding. Interesting to say the least. All the boys seem to have fun, and everyone comes out to watch. It's always a good time!

Delta Omega at Murray State University has been successfully hosting "Mr. MSU" for over 25 years. I am sure they would be glad to share their process with you.

My chapter, Chi Lambda, does a male pageant called Survival of the Fittest. Our 2008 event was just held the day after Valentine's Day and the theme was "Striking out Arthritis One Arrow at a Time." We raised $4000, so it was a big success. If you would like more info, just let me know!
Alove,
Lauren

Theta Beta does Pi Guy every year. Fraternity men compete to be named Pi Guy for the year. Activities include a dance competition and pie eating contest among other things. It is always a popular event. The next one will be in the late spring. If you want more details, i can ask one of the collegians for more info.

The delta sigma chapter holds a Mr. Fraternity pageant every year during the fall. This past semester we changed it from Mr.Fraternity to Mr. and Ms. Greek.
