Greek Store
Hey everyone,
I go to school in Florida and there are 2 Universities here. Both universities have a growing greek population but only one of them has a greek store. I've found a manufacturer and supplier for all the paddle related items and I need to find a supplier for the rest of the greek items like shot glasses, pens, license plates, sandles, etc. Im curious if anyone has ever started their own greek store ( whether online, catalog, brick and mortar) and what their experiences were.
Thanks in advance,
Jeff Miller

Psst...Greekopedia...you're getting annoying and bordering on spam. I know you're doing business, and you actually contribute to the boards, but just quit while you're ahead. Mkay??

That's funny... I thought there were several universities in Florida.
Florida State, Miami, UCF, Florida... I've come up with 4 just off the top of my head.

It depends on your defintion of "South Florida".
We have several universities in South Florida: UM, FIU, FAU, Fl Memorial, NSU, Barry, Lynn, etc.
I am only aware of one greek store in our general area, down in coral gables across from UM. Not aware of any in Ft Lauderdale.

Well FIU now has a store in our student center that sells paddles, make iron-on/stitch shirts, sells cute shit for the sororities, etc.
But its a bit more expensive than DNN, which is the store across UM that you're referring to.

Well, actually FAU had a 'store' in their student center for awhile. Not a true store, more of a 'catalog outlet' I would call it. But last time I was on campus a couple of years ago, it was gone.
There apparently was also a store near Florida Memorial, run by a son of the owner of D&N. But AFAIK, its gone.
Apart from D&N, am not aware of any other greek stores in the area. D&N has a pretty good selection of stuff, but next to nothing specifically for my group (but we don't have enought chapters in the area to justify that). But all my stitch shirts are from them, and well done.
