Who knows? Probably because of some of the terrible things they may have experienced while growing up. Especially, if their father was trifling, controlling, and/or physically/emotionally abusive to their mother or vice versa. Because of that, they’ll think that being with with a trifling, controlling, physically and/or emotionally abusive man is normal in a relationship/marriage. Hence, they will stay and suffer the abuse, unless they get some professional help. Just my guess. 🤷🏽

Meh… I think that applies to both women and men. I also think those who allow any kind of abuse and stay, there’s definitely some kind of low self-esteem going on that leads that person not to respect themselves. People generally respect those who respect themselves. This is why I believe that what you think of yourself is exactly who you are. If you don’t respect yourself, who will?
