Yeah. There was a massive abolish greek life movement there, and that caused many chapters to close. It's depressing.

Our Epsilon chapter at Northwestern voted to voluntarily relinquish its charter in August 2020.

In Fall 2018, Northwestern looked like this:
Tri Delta 75
Alpha Phi 59
Gamma Phi Beta 57
Kappa Alpha Theta 90
Delta Gamma 88
Kappa Delta 99
Kappa Kappa Gamma 72
Chi Omega 90
Alpha Chi Omega 81
Pi Beta Phi 100
Zeta Tau Alpha 95
Delta Zeta 87
In Fall 2019, Northwestern looked like this:
Tri Delta 75
Alpha Phi 55
Gamma Phi Beta 50
Kappa Alpha Theta 78
Delta Gamma 79
Kappa Delta 72
Kappa Kappa Gamma 71
Chi Omega 87
Alpha Chi Omega 76
Pi Beta Phi 80
Zeta Tau Alpha 68
Delta Zeta 79
In Fall 2020, Northwestern looked like this:
Tri Delta 11
Alpha Phi 15
Gamma Phi Beta - closed
Kappa Alpha Theta 35
Delta Gamma 31
Kappa Delta 33
Kappa Kappa Gamma 49
Chi Omega 21
Alpha Chi Omega 47
Pi Beta Phi 8
Zeta Tau Alpha 4
Delta Zeta 22
The Greek Life office hasn't posted a grade report since then, but in Fall of 2022, here were the chapters that were left:
Tri Delta
Alpha Phi
Kappa Alpha Theta
Delta Gamma
Kappa Delta
Chi Omega
Alpha Chi Omega
Gamma Phi Beta, Kappa Kappa Gamma, Pi Beta Phi, Delta Zeta and now Zeta Tau Alpha are all gone.
It's sad.

I hope that the chapters will be restored when all the POS have left campus.

When presented with Epsilon chapter's request to relinquish their chapter charter, Gamma Phi Beta HQ chose to "suspend" the chapter operations instead. So, technically, the charter is still in effect, but inactive. This means that HQ can reactivate the chapter at a later date.

Per our FB page, we are returning to East Carolina University (Gamma Eta) and West Virginia University (Alpha Xi) during Spring 2023.
Also, our Minnesota expansion did not go as planned and expansion is cancelled.
Please remove from page 1.

Does NPC have any "agreements" regarding charter "suspending" instead of "relinquishing"? Or is it up to each collegiate NPC organization to decide? Also, is the chapter responsible for "dues" even if it's suspended?
Asking because I was recently involved in the same type of scenario. Our chapter first needed approval from the college IFC (due to multiple expansions occurring in the future) and our HQ required the chapter to pay "specific"
national dues.
