AKA is looking to come to NMSU. It will be the only D9 on campus. ZΦΒ was on campus before but closed.

Covid helped but I think the amount of bachelor's you can get online now also has a huge impact. If you aren't held to being on campus, it will change the culture. These trends were already on the rise pre-covid. It will be interesting what adjustments Greek Life must make to meet these types of challenges and changes in demographics.

Per UCLA FSL Website RE: Growth/expansion. It's been in place for about 5 years now.
https://fsl.ucla.edu/community-direc...he%20community.
A few years ago, my organization visited the FSL office to discuss the possibility of re-opening our closed chapter. Their answer was "No"....

Delta Zeta has announced the closing of their chapter at Gallaudet University due to low membership.

That's significant. Delta Zeta's national Philanthropy is Hearing related and they've paired with Gallaudet for that. While not quite the same as having a GLO declaring their founding chapter inactive, it is definitely not run of the mill.
Also, IMO, Gallaudet's greek system is a little odd with some locals that have frankly gotten more slack (in terms of being able to return multiple times from serious incidents) than just about any other school that I've seen.

Also, Tri-Delta has the opportunity to recharter first. They closed due to low numbers in 2017. But that will have to be voted on by Panhellenic. When AGD was voted on to recharter first with the last expansion, in order for AXiD to recolonize (which was voted on second to recharter), numbers had to be at a certain point within three years and the numbers weren’t there.

Oh no! I have the same reaction as naraht. What a bummer. I hope that DZ will be able to come back to that campus someday.

Holy cow, I didn't realize how huge the DZ connection with the university was until I looked it up! I hope they can return soon.
And Tri Delta returning to UCLA is a hope I have at some point in the future, though I found out their house is being used as a home for foster kids in college!

UCLA has at least 5 chapters that are not at total after Fall recruitment. AGD & AXO are the smallest and did not make quota. The other 3 are closer to total and are making quota.
