I totally agree...I'd do nice dark jeans, a simple blouse (maybe belt it?), and boots. You could throw a casual blazer with it if you feel the need to "dress up" more.

Something like this:

If you really feel the need to wear a dress, I'd definitely put on opaque tights and boots/ankle boots. Bare legs in January is just off.

I don't know what PNMs at FSU usually wear, but I think these may still be pushing the season a bit for Jan/Feb. It really will matter less what brand you buy than how you look in it (I really like Lilly, but you may want to avoid prints/patterns that either scream LP -- especially in winter -- or silhouettes that potentially look too 'mom').

Maybe go with something somewhat more simple and accessorize well? My dd has this dress (Lilly from fall season, but probably easy to find online). It is a sweater dress that can be accessorized differently (looks great belted -- could wear with a scarf -- or tights -- etc).

Looked it up -- it is the Helena Sweater dress. Even 2 results came up from Ebay -- for a lot less than it retailed for a few months ago.

Good luck -- you will probably arrive at the event and wonder why you worried about what to wear. : )

Darling dress, hartofsec. Good suggestion by WhiteDaisy 128, too.

FSU PNMs would dress similarly to other large, southern universities with competitive recruitments. Clothing should be appropriate to the season.
