Favors for Sorority Alum
Any popular event favors you would recommend for sorority alum? Preferably ones that don't include letters so it is more subtle-- age range is 22-45 or so. A little more modern, lots of working professionals.
Thanks! We're planning a chapter reunion weekend.

I've given alums/sisters a set of sorority soaps as a keepsake and to decorate their home with something that reminds them of their sisterhood. They are relatively inexpensive, and if you check Ebay, you can get the place that makes them, by hand.

What is your budget? And how many people are attending? Things Remembered has nice white fleece throws on their website for $15 (cheaper if you order a bunch). You could get those and have the diamond pi symbol embroidered on them in blue.

One of my recent favorites has been a business card holder--it has the letters embossed/debossed on it.

Anywhere from 50-250, I think. No budget given yet, but I assume under $20 p/person

I'd go with the blankets then. Classy, you always can use them, and you'll probably get a nice discount for ordering a bunch.

I don't want to rain on anyone's parade, but as an alum ten years out of school, I would not want a blanket or a frame--I need something I can use and won't take up space in my home...pens, key chain (with just the letters) etc. I don't need another tote bag because I have a million of them, that I don't use, and I would absolutely not want a glass or other similar item. I just goodwill'd all the favors I had from college because I had no idea what else to do with them.
Maybe a candy jar for my desk?

There's talk of doing glass paperweights with some very basic symbols etched into the class so they don't scream "sorority." They may also do beaded swarovksi (I know I just killed the spelling on that) bracelets in our colors. The idea is simple and discreet. I agree, alumnae far removed from college remember their college days fondly, but it doesn't look appropriate to be sporting letters all over your office or cubicle. These aren't my rules, just business society in general every place I have worked.
I appreciate all of these great ideas, everyone! We still haven't finalized favors and I would love your input and thoughts.

I made shadow boxes for our Ruby Members last year.
They are 4 x 6 I think. I don't think that's doable with 250 tho!
I like the paperweight.
You could also do your flower - a small pot of African Violets.

Maybe a coffee/tea mug with letters or coat of arms.
Can be used for many things besides drinking out of!
Years back, we gave a inexpensive jewelry box item with Coat of Arms on the top for dates at Founders Day dinner.
How about laviliers (SIC) for the Alums to wear on a chain?

I like the idea of a coffee mug - perhaps with a mascot or a flower? (I've got one I use at work, very subtle - I'll see if Gift Mart still has it and send u the picture.)

That's what I was going to say. We got beautiful ones as the party favors at Pink Carnation banquet at convention.
But it all depends on your budget.....
