Don't hit me up for donations!

Okay you know what is really annoying?! Lately I have been noticing that a lot of people I used to hang out with on a regular basis but really don't see anymore for whatever reason have nothing to say outside of our once a year get-togethers (or less)except to hit me up for donations for whatever cause they are currently raising money for. I don't mind donating to good causes but when you don't email me, call me, or see me foreva why bother to contact me for your cause? Is it rude to respond with an email stating this?

Yes, I think that it is rude to respond with an email stating this. It is also rude to only contact people to ask them for donations. I would just ignore the request. Or you can wish them the best in their endeavors.

Or what Dionysus said, lol!

I tried to hit the nice folks here on GC for donations in my birthday thread. Can you believe I didn't get a single one?

But I feel you. If it's not a cause I'm passionate about, don't try and get me to donate money

heh.
I average receiving 3 letters in the mail per day requesting donations for various organizations and candidates.

Just because I've given $500 so far this year is no reason to expect me to give some to you.
