Drive on, trooper. You have chosen the best and I wish you good luck and great success. Hope you enjoy Ft Knox and the Training Brigade. There is a lot to be said for both heavy armor and Cavalry but I recommend the Cav! When you fill out your 'dream sheet' if you want some forward deployed action check to see who is scheduled to rotate out to Iraq. They will always need replacements (Dont think too hard about this, its an occupational hazard of active service but an excellent way to get serious experience fast). On the other hand, if you would just as soon skip the trip to Iraq request an outfit that has just rotated back. They won't be going back for a while and you can get experience at a somewhat less hectic pace. In any case, the needs of the Army will be the real decision maker although they will try to fit you where you want to be if there is a vacancy. Basic and AIT will be demanding but if you keep a good attitude and listen up it can be a lot of fun. Keep us posted when you get a chance (probably after week seven).
