I did see UW's quota has dropped and AOII closed last year due to dwindling numbers. You also have to remember a lot of people have put off college recently.
I found these numbers through Instagram as many houses posted their new member classes. Zeta didn't.

Well sure, but with an undergrad enrollment of almost 32,000 - these numbers are TINY. And it just doesn’t seem to be following the trends elsewhere this year where most pledge classes are way up with students who decided to wait a year to go to school.

This was a strange year with COVID (Washington has some of the strictest COVID laws in the country) and uncertainty as to in-person classes and what Greek housing would look like. As a result, the Greek Life Office said lot of women were hesitant to sign up for primary but are interested in COB. All chapters made quota (20 primary, 3 secondary) except for Zeta Tau Alpha (in their first year as an unhoused chapter) who matched 19 total, so it seems like PNMs during primary are still mostly looking for housed sororities, but I think Zeta has the potential be able to be very successful with COB and reach great women who aren’t as interested in having a house.
I think it’s hard to determine whether lower numbers are a trend now; we need a few more years of data points. I’m not too worried (yet) because COB seems to be very successful still.

Gamma Phi Beta is also at the University of Washington and judging from their new member class pic on Instagram, it looks like they have 24 new pledges.

Quota was down at Grand Valley State -- only 14. Everyone is COBing. Recruitment was moved up by 3 weeks, and there wasn't as much time to publicize. I'm guessing it's going to move back next fall.
Gamma Phi Beta took 15 new members through formal recruitment.

Wisconsin
Today was Bid Day at the University of Wisconsin (Madison)
Round one was virtual, and the rest was in-person.
There were 1450 women initially registered, but 1315 actually participated in Round One.
1054 women received bids today
Quota was 86
Gamma Phi Beta has 92 New Members (sorry, I have no numbers for other chapters)
Zeta Tau Alpha starts their new chapter process October 10

Ok this confirms it, I think we as Madison residents really need to get an alumnae panhellenic together. These are SEC numbers.

Winona State University
Quota 4
Delta Phi Epsilon - 4
Sigma Sigma Sigma - 4
Alpha Sigma Tau - 3
I really want to know what happened here. Even in the slump in the late 90s early 00s the chapters would get 10 members minimum. It does not seem to be pandemic related.

Do you know the reason all three NPC sororities closed on this campus in 1983 and 1984, when sororities nationwide were very popular? And could that reason be similar to the reason for the more recent diminishment of student interest in sororities?
I'm recalling the possibly low financial terms of life, for students from midwestern rural/farming populations, in both situations.
