Transition from Active to Alumni

Wow, its hard to believe that I have been an alumni for almost 2 months now. Now that my undergrad career is over with and I have moved to Texas for grad school where there is a small greek life. I am finding it to be really strange to not have 60 brothers to hang out with or go to the fraternity house. I guess that is all a part of growing up. But damn it I miss Sig Tau! And the closest chapter is nearly 4 hours away. Well any advice from others on how to ease the transition?

Easy, find new friends that is in the same level you are. Do not try to hang out with undergrad. It's a different ball game. Go and hang out at the grad student bar and join the association.

There may be another group for Greeks in general in your area. If not, why not start one? Craigslist.com is a great place to advertise for this kind of thing. And you can also always try to start an alumni group for your area, but it may be hard if there are no others in your org in a fairly close radius. Good luck!

I have to agree with everyone who have posted. I'm sure you can start a Alumni Association where you live. Congrats on getting your Bachelor's Degree. Please keep in touch and good luck in Grad School.

While that is great, it only works if there Alums in The Area.

Sounds Like JohnnyB is in Netherland.?

Not to say what you said is bad.

but, if there are No Brothers Chapters or Alum Assoc. to be Found, it Might be helpful to try to find Brothers of STG there in the Local Area.

JohnnyB, Go Dude, You are A Mover and a Shaker, I know Your Back Ground! Just check when you go time and DOOOOO IT!
