Recieving more than one bid?
Hi everyone. Sorry if this seems like a stupid question, but I was just wondering about it. A girl at my school said that she recieved bids to all 3 houses that she prefed. Is that even possible?

That is not possible in formal recruitment. You are only matched with one chapter at the end. Not 2. Not 3. Just one.

Um, I don't believe so. If she went through formal recruitment, she can only have been officially offered ONE bid.

I don't know if any campuses do this anymore, but some tell you all of your bids (basically you get 2 or 3 cards) and then you pick. However, that's really uncommon. Most people who go to a pref party are somewhere on that chapters bid list (saying most because all chapters work differently) but wouldn't necessarily receive a bid depending on where they were on the list.
So I don't really have a good answer.

She is lying or very dumb or both if this was something that she said after NPC formal recruitment.
The only way she could have received multiple bids was in a non-formal recruitment period when several sororities were holding Continuous Recruitment events and were able to extend bids and give girls a few days to accept or decline.

It depends. At my school, informal recruitment was structured just like formal, except that there was no bid matching or quota, so sororities could give out as many bids as they wanted to and girls could get bids from all 4 sororities. If informal recruitment is done in this way at your school, then yea, it's possible. Otherwise, no.
