Xi Omega Chapter -- Virginia Tech

Dear Fraters,

I would like to thank the numerous fraters from all chapters that have expressed their condolences due to the shootings that happened on April 16, 2007 at Virginia Tech. I am fortunate to say that no Tekes were harmed in the incident; however, good friends have been lost.

The support that I have received from all levels of Tau Kappa Epsilon is overwhelming. I have truly never been more proud to wear the letters of TKE. The Fraters of Xi-Omega ask that you keep the families and friends of the victims in your prayers as we continue through this time in our collegiate lives. The hardest part is still to come as we continue to try and make sense of this horrific incident.

Yours in the Bond,
Bryce Simmons

To the Fraters of the Xi- Omega Chapter,
No one can possibly understand what you and your school are going through and I don't try to pretend like I know. An event like that changes people. It changes how we act and our outlook on life. All or prayers and wishes go out to you as a chapter and to your entire student body there in Blacksburg.

Fraters of the Xi-Omega Chapter,

To echo the thoughts of Frater Morris from Middle Tennessee State U., there is no possible way that any of the rest of us can graspe the life-changing magnitude and overwhelming sense of "why?" that all of you are feeling as the innocent victims of this horrendous, wicked, and senseless tragedy. Life is a precious thing and one we are blessed with for a precious and cherished time on the planet - when that is abruptly ended or shattered, it shakes your soul to its very foundation. God Bless all of you and here it to you affirmation of your own lives, appreciation for every moment of every day you live from this moment forward. Your TKE brothers in Missouri and Kansas can't completely identify or immerse themselves in your paid, but we can pray that you all find healing, peace, strength, and an intensified love of life and each other as a result of this tragedy. May the Supreme Being of the universe protect and preserve you.

Dear Fraters of Xi-Omega

We at Alpha Pi wanted to take a moment to express our deepest sympathies over the events at your campus Monday morning. Having just received notice that all of your brothers are safe and sound is a huge relief to all of us, but we realize that the pain that you all must be feeling is incomprehensible and not soon to fade. In reflecting within our own chapter, we continue to appreciate that it is events such as these that truly exemplify the strength of the fraternity, and how in the face of crisis we only become stronger. You have our promise to help in any possible way as you continue through these difficult times. Whether our help can be utilized through awareness, philanthropic assistance, or just an outlet to get out of Virginia for the weekend with a road trip, our assistance is always ready and our doors are always open. Our thoughts and prayers are constantly with you and please do not hesitate for a moment if we can assist in any way at all.

To the Fraters of Xi Omega chapter,

Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you and your friends. This is undeniably senseless and the worst event in history. There are no words that one can truly say to express what y'all have gone through. Also, there aren't words for the sorrow that we all feel for you. The members of the Epsilon Omicron chapter at the University of Houston are here for all of you whenever you need us. Please accept our condolences.
