Quite frankly GC - this one is giving me a Prunetacos vibe and I think we should just ignore him, because another one of those is the last thing we need on here.

Wasn't it Hoosier who was obsessed with hazing topics here and later discovered to have a college guy paddling porn site?

Did you forget about that? You were here, weren't you?
Hoosier was constantly posting about hazing incidents that happened (along with borderline racist/sexist thread titles) and went so far as to email colleges with pictures he found online. He was so proud that he posted a copy of the letter he sent to a college, with his real name attached. The moral of the story is don't give us your real name if you also used it writing homoerotic internet porn.

I'm in a fraternity in Belgium. As pledges, you have to do usual things (as considered here)troughout the whole year, such as: being called in the middle of the night to bring beer to the house etc..
The last day of our existence as a pledge, they put us outside (in a forrest), in the cold (32F°) for more then 14 hours. Most of the time you were alone, sometimes together with the other pledges. Every 15 min. they threw a bucket of icecold water on us. We had to eat dirty things (a lot of insects, dog and cat food, and a lot of other disgusting mixtures), and when you had to vomit, you had to do it on an other pledge.
Being pied on was a reward, it was like a nice hot shower, never in my life I've had so cold.
That was for sure the worst day of my life, but it made our group of pledges stronger, it creates a stronger band between the pledges. It helps to establish strong friendships, and I think that's what a lot of person seek in their fraternity, friendships for life.

I wouldn't have stayed in if we had been hazed. It was pretty much the total OPPOSITE of hazing -- our bigs got us presents, took us out to dinner, taught us about our history... everything. It was an awesome experience.
I've heard of some hazing going on with some of the frats on campus though... It really upsets me. I worry about their pledges and if any of my close friends decided they wanted to rush a frat... yeah I'd be a little worried. I'm not sure about the other sororities. I don't think anything has bee going on, but then again the sororities tend to be a little more close-lipped about those things happening.

It's kind of amazing when you think about it. I thought I had developed lifelong friendships and relationships with several friends of mine. I thought I had real bonds with them, both sorority sisters and friends from elementary school/high school. Now I come to find out that I couldn't possibly have a strong bond with them because we've never vomited or urinated on each other? That all these strong friendships I've developed are a farce? Because apparently vomiting and urinating on someone is required to have a strong bond them? I'm crushed.
