Question Total Question

When you have members studying abroad, and you have recruitment, do the abroad members get counted towards total?

EXAMPLE:
total = 90
sisters abroad = 5
quota = 25
sisters rushing = 60

If the chapter gets quota they'll have 85 sisters. Are they allowed to take an additional five? Or are they considered at total?

What if instead of studying abroad, the sisters are taking a leave of absence from the chapter? I know not a ton of nationals allow LOA, but we do.

funny you should ask that... much drama was made about this at our school this past week. the green book suggests that sisters who are abroad for an academic turn NOT be counted in total... therefore you can recruit more members to kind of take their place while they are gone since they aren't active at the school, even though they are still sisters in the chapter ...

BUT

the green book defines an "academic term" as AN ENTIRE YEAR's leave from school... therefore unless they are gone a whole year, they are still counted in total for you chapter the one semester that they are gone abroad. hope this helps!
