white suit/dress
I know that this has been discussed many times over, but does anyone know where I could find a white suit or dress to wear of initiation?

I would check the sale racks of local stores and depending on the size you need, places like Chadwicks, Lerner, Speigel, Jessica London and Roaman's usually have these in stock year-round.
You also need to make sure if it has to be pure white w/white trim or if metallic buttons are OK. For some groups, there can't be any other color other than white. Ivory won't count, either.

thank you for the great sites, PnguinTrax. Yes, I was told that it had to be white, no ivory, cream or off white.

I got a decent white shift dress and a white cardigan earlier this year from Boston Proper:

Just a question; does it have to be a white dress can it be a pant suit? The only thing that everyone keeps on metioning are skirt suits or dress. Are pants acceptable?

I think palazzo pants (whew..showing my age...anyway, those big wide-legged pants that look like a long skirt) or a very classy white suit would be OK, but definitely check with the sisters first.

I'm in Miami so I don't know if this would apply everywhere, but...
Express has tons of pure white dresses, skirts, nice tops. They also have ivory stuff too.
This is surpising considering its November

Hi Stephanie!
It *does* need to be a white dress or skirt suit. No pants whatsoever.
Good Luck!!!!

All else fails, try your hand at making a white skirt since white tops are easier to find in general this time o' year
My freshman year my best buddy Jen was joining Sigma Kappa and we went shopping together and could find NOTHING!!!
We went to WalMart, bought some white fabric and elastic, and I whipped out my sewing machine, took her measurements, and made a pretty good-looking skirt! She looked really nice for her initiation

Another place to find a skirt if you are desperate is Life Uniform, or any other place that sells nurses' uniforms. Not the most fashionable, but it is white and it is a skirt.

sewing is a good thing...
I found my dress weeks before intiation and i was even contemplating making a dress or skirt. But i never thought of a uniform store. Yes, SHirts/ blouses are easy to find.
